Meet Kacey
My path to The Living Room Wellness wasn't a straight line — but honestly, the best things rarely are.
I went to school to become a social worker, with the goal of eventually working in oncology. I was within 6 credits of my associate's in human services when COVID hit and I had to step away. I worked double time through most of the pandemic, and by the end of it I needed to take a break for my own mental health — which, in its own way, taught me more about mental health than any classroom did.
After that break, I reassessed. Becoming a social worker would take years more of school, and to get where I really wanted to be I'd need a master's. The finances just didn't add up in a way that felt sustainable. So I did something I'd always dreamed of and moved abroad.
Mexico changed everything. I started building on skills and interests I'd always put on the back burner, and slowly grew a life that actually felt like mine. But my love for psychology and for helping people never really left.
So when I found myself at a dinner in Mérida, sharing my story with the owner of this practice — and she said she had a place for me — it felt like the kind of full-circle moment you don't question. Being part of The Living Room , even virtually, just feels right.
I'm the person on the other end of that first call or message. If you're taking a step toward care, I'm glad to help you find your footing.
