Olivia Barrott
Hi, I’m Olivia! I am a therapist-in-training working on my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with Capella University. I am graduating with my Master of Science degree in September 2025.
As no stranger to sitting on the other side of the therapy session, I understand the vulnerability that comes with healing the painful parts of our pasts and working towards hope and goals for the future with someone who starts out as an unfamiliar face. I strive to provide a space of compassion and healing for all people who sit on the couch.
I began my journey towards becoming a Marriage and Family therapist because I saw the need in our community for secular-based therapy that was geared towards couples and their families. As a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also saw a gap in the options that we have for couple’s therapy where the couple could just be as they are without fear of judgment or rejection. Couples and families come in all shapes and sizes, and so should your therapist!
I am here to provide support and to provide a non-judgmental space where clients can express themselves freely. I work from a client-centered approach, and look to be a co-author with you, your partner, or even the whole family in your life story, as we discover new chapters. I use narrative and Internal Family Systems systemic approaches to learn about the people in your life, the effects you have on each other, and to increase your sense of well-being and hope. I believe that you are the expert on your life story, and I am here to learn all about you and help you author your life to what you want to see.
