About Kacey Flieder
My path to The Living Room Wellness wasn't a straight line — but honestly, the best things rarely are. I went to school to become a social worker, with the goal of eventually working in oncology. I was within six credits of earning my associate's degree in Human Services when COVID hit, and I had to step away. I worked double time through most of the pandemic, and by the end of it, I needed to take a break for my own mental health — which, in its own way, taught me more about mental health than any classroom ever could. After that break, I reassessed. Becoming a social worker would require years more of school, and to get where I really wanted to be, I would need a master's degree. The finances just didn't add up in a way that felt sustainable. So I did something I'd always dreamed of and moved abroad. Mexico changed everything. I started building on skills and interests I'd always put on the back burner and slowly created a life that actually felt like mine. But my love for psychology and helping people never really left. So when I found myself at a dinner in Mérida, sharing my story with the owner of this practice, and she told me she had a place for me, it felt like the kind of full-circle moment you don't question. Being part of The Living Room Wellness, even virtually, just feels right. I'm the person on the other end of that first call or message. If you're taking a step toward care, I'm glad to help you find your footing.
